All 7 ITR Forms Released For E-Filing: IT Dept

New Delhi: The Income Tax Department today launched and activated all the seven ITR forms for e-filing by taxpayers, after more than a month of them being notified.


“All ITRs for AY 2018-19 are now available for e-filing,” the department said in a statement.The Central Board of Direct Taxes had notified the new Income Tax Return forms for the assessment year 2018-19 on April 5.

To boost paperless ticketing, Indian Railways offers 5% bonus to passengers for booking with UTS app

Paperless ticketing in Indian Railways: In a bid to encourage paperless ticketing among railway passengers, the Southern division of Indian Railways recently announced that passengers who are also UTS mobile app users will be given a 5 per cent bonus when they recharge their R Wallets.

The passengers also have the option to recharge using their credit card as well as their debit card within the UTS mobile app itself. (PTI)

Paperless ticketing in Indian Railways: In a bid to encourage paperless ticketing among railway passengers, the Southern division of Indian Railways recently announced that passengers who are also UTS mobile app users will be given a 5 per cent bonus when they recharge their R Wallets. The scheme which has been implemented on the orders of the Railway Board will be active for a duration of three months. Under this scheme, whenever a passenger or a user recharges his/her R Wallet for a sum of Rs 1,000, he/she will be credited with a bonus of Rs 50 (5 per cent) on behalf of the railways, according to a TOI report.

The Western Railway (WR) has installed a biogas plant at Mumbai Central station that will convert organic waste into gas, which will then be used for cooking, a senior official has said.

“It is a matter of pride that we have set up a solid waste disposal and management system (biogas) at Mumbai Central outside the Coach Care Centre as part of out environmental initiative,” said official.

Paradoxically, the lowering of qualifications will help pull in more services in the Railways to the automation mode and create space to finance 

The Railways argued that most of the Group C and D posts do not need the candidates to learn anything more than they get to learn at the level of class 10. So, putting the ITI in the eligibility requirement was unnecessary.

“Essentially, the jobs in railways have to do with basic services like clean up and maintenance of tracks and coaches. These can be done by a class 10 passout too,” said a top official from the Indian Railway Personnel Service, the cadre of officers who handle recruitment.

IRCTC ticket booking online: Keeping track of illegitimate software is difficult, says Railways official

The agents,however, are giving sleepless nights to IRCTC as they use illegal software to book tickets. “Keeping track of illegitimate software is difficult. It is possible that over 1,000 tickets get booked in a second across the country,” a senior rail official told DNA. The agents reportedly take a commission of Rs 500 or more for each booking.

Delhi Metro Magenta Line has been extended from Janakpuri to Kalkaji and will be made open to public on May 29, Tuesday. The 25.6 km corridor will enhance connectivity between west and south Delhi and also cut travel time from Janakpuri to Noida.
